Carriage Driving Ads Chase City Virginia

This unique two-wheeled cart was imported to the US from Holland in 2001 and garage stored at my familys home since. It has been recorded as one of the few original remaining Sjees in the world. Listed as number #107 in the beautiful De Friese Sjees book that is still being sold. The Sjees may be drawn by one or two horses, and aboard are a gentleman and a lady dressed in the traditional costumes of the 1880s. The sjees is one of the few carriages in which the driver is seated on the left; his lady occupies the right-hand side, the place of honor. Four-in-hand carriages are common and as many as ten-in-hand can be seen in front of these light carriages. The Dutch take great pride in this outstanding vehile and is would be a token for any carriage collector. Selling for my Mother & Father who are getting out of the horse business.
